Amanda,
Darling is
a natural mystic that excels in divination, intuitive arts, and
ritual. A practicing magician for over a decade, the Left Hand Path has
been
home for the last 5 years. She is co-founder of Party Monster, a
paradigm based
on the club scene of the 90's. Classically trained in Wicca, but
currently
practicing Chaos Magick, because her black cat ran away several times
and she
took it as a sign that being a traditional witch wasn't a good fit. Her
ordained hippy name is Amethyst Rainbow. She is a Priestess of The
Church of
Hilarity and Spontaneous Song, a Priestess of the Chaos Vaginas, and
specializes in Fire Arts with Sacred Circus. Amanda enjoys exploring
this wild
ride called life with her partner in crime, live music, spreading the
seeds of
Chaos Magick at festivals across the Midwest, throwing fabulous
parties,
costumes, collecting weird shit, walks on the beach with fruity drinks
garnished with umbrellas, practicing every day magick, sunny days,
sleeping in,
crystals, and snuggling her grey cat, River.

Amanda
Torrey (Templewhore) is an idea driven person motivated by
her inspired
concepts. In 1998, these ideas helped Amanda and her husband David to
form Terra Incognita's intentional community. TI attempted to integrate
spirituality with sexuality using ancient Mesopotamian models that have
proven to be adaptable to a variety of religious and magickal
beliefs.
Scary, shadow-filled places of
Monsters and Magick that thrive in a Jungian Collective Unconscious
resides inside our psyche where Amanda believes we can begin breaking
fear-generated barriers for personal growth. The power released from
these barriers often produces loving energy which helps heal most
emotional wounds as well as unite those participating in the Process of
Transcendence. For her, symbolic acts only bring symbolic rewards, so
both deity and divine energy exchanges must be reality based. So, after
many years of working in law firms and creating community service
organizations, her 2009 DePaul degree in Religious Studies focused on
how cultural religious biases impact on social systems. She'd like to
be part of developing bridges between marginal communities (alternative
subcultures) and mainstream society through awareness of the full
spectrum of spiritual identifications. As the importance of
self-definitions became obvious, because of her work in T/I as well as
her studies at DePaul, she believes answers to many modern problems can
be found in Ancient History which seems to be the nexus of sexuality
and spirituality.
Terra Incognita is a sexual magick
temple in Chicago dedicated to the eclectic Qadishtu Path of
celebration, education and healing which might include BDSM, Paganism,
the patron/protege program, polyamory, Sex Magick, sexwork, surrogacy,
Tantra and Taoist practices. Through myth and rituaI, it is possible to
enter the dolmer of the Collective Unconscious through a very flexible
neo-Pagan type of ritual that focuses energetic group workings, which
owes a great deal to Chaos Magick creativity. Her Qadishtu priesthood
is Temple-based, and gives homage to historical precedents which
includes educational outreach and various hands-on practices.

-- (We're still waiting on his bio, so we'll see if he notices
that Laurelei has taken liberties. She runs amuck if nobody pays
attention. Mwahahaha!) You know what makes Anthony awesome? Lots of
stuff, we're guessing! But the thing we're going to brag on him
for is that he does not back down from a challenge, and he didn't shy
away from jumping right into a BIG job when the festival put a call out
for help. A festival like this needs "boots on the ground" to get
the work accomplished, and Anthony is doing the DO -- showing Babalon

The
Babalon Finishing School was created in order to provide
an exclusive
forum for introducing select souls to the arts of the Left Hand Path of
magick, and to the lifestyle which inevitably follows. For the
last five years it has grown and flourished in Cincinnati, and evolved
into a precise yet chaotic blend of ideas, rituals, and tradition.
Since the way is not for all, it must be found by the individual, and
only those who are willing to take risks, and explore the abyss will
recognise the entrance to the journey. Questioning ones own perception
of reality is the first step to awakening, and sometimes the first step
to ones destruction. Thru destruction we recreate ourselves, again and
again into the truly conscious nakedness of being. The founders of the
BFS are dedicated to showing the way to those who wish to explore the
mysteries of the active paths of magick. Join us in our journey!

Brian Henke composes
and performs his
music like a painter putting images on canvas, a kind of sonic shaman,
drawing his inspiration from the world around him. An avid hiker, he
often brings his guitar along to create a spontaneous response to his
outdoor settings.
Mother Earth (Terra) as artist has
given an immense living gallery from the humbling spectacle of her
natural wonders to the simple, beauty of a treetop against a blue sky.
Her majestic legacy and the magical feeling of awe and peace inspire
the compositions of this award winning virtuosic fingerstyle guitarist.
Brian’s seven solo CD’s, “Many Waters”, “Love Song for Terra”,”Force of
Nature”, “The Nature of Light”, “Tree of Life”, “A Child’s Garden” and
his most recent release, “Seven Magic Spells” are a cornucopia of sonic
vistas. He celebrates the seasons, a Grand Canyon sunset, the fireside
magic of an American shaman, playful waterfalls, the color of the wind
and the light of dreams to name a few. His live DVD,”Live at Cuyahoga
Community College” gives listeners and viewers a chance to enjoy a
front seat in an intimate concert setting with a half hour interview
afterwards giving the viewer a deeper understanding of where his music
comes from.
He also recorded “A Crown of Stars” with Bluefeather, Dunlap and Henke,
a CD that made it into the top 10 in June of 2007 on the International
New Age Radio Charts and is the producer of “The Woodchoppers Ball”, a
double CD featuring 26 of the worlds best acoustic guitarists released
to benefit Northeast Ohio’s homeless and is the promoter of the annual
benefit concert of the same name, having recently celebrated it’s 12th
year.
His unique guitar style has been called everything from Folk to New Age
to Neo-Classical to Pastoral or as Brian likes to call it “a big
stewpot of everything, stirred up, simmered and served to taste.” His
music appeals to anyone who likes their music lyrical, thought
provoking and performed with virtuosity. Through it all is an
undercurrent of spirituality and mysticism that Brian says is very much
a part of the creative process. Because of this he has received radio
air play all over the world on shows as varied as WKSU’s “Folk Alley”
and John Dilberto’s “Echoes”. He has also shared the bill or performed
with acts as diverse as “Yes”, “The Strawbs”, “ Bill Frisell” “Linda
Ronstadt”, “Glass Harp”, Wendy Rule, Steve Morse”, Yngvie Malmsteen”,
“Robin and Linda Williams”, “Richie Havens”, “John Prine” Christine
Lavin”, “Dar Williams” ”The Kingston Trio”, ”Alison Brown, ”Adrian
Belew”, ”Spiro Gyra, Dar Williams, and many of the best acoustic
guitarists in the world including “Andy McKee”, “Pete Huttlinger”,
“Phil Keaggy”, ”Alex DeGrassi”, ”Stephen Bennett”, ”John Doan”, ”Beppe
Gambetta”, Doug Smith”, ”Dan Crary”, Laurence Juber and many, many
others.
A winner of many acoustic and electric guitar awards, he has also been
a finalist in the prestigious National Fingerstyle Contest in Winfield,
Kansas, the National Guitarmageddon regional finals in Boston and in
New Age Reporters Top 10 for 2006 and 2010.
“Brian’s fretwork is masterful, elaborate and he makes every note
count…His compositions are harmonious, sometimes complicated, but
always engaging…Brian Henke’s music is organic, mesmerizing and best of
all magic.” – RJ Lannon New Age Reporter

DiscordAeon took
interest in music at
a very early age. Be it the ramblings of Huey Lewis or Sonata's of
Beethoven, he always had a great interest in music. Around 13 or 14 he
decided he was tired of just listening to music and wanted to make some
of his own. He saved his allowance, which he never received. Actually
he didn't eat lunch. And saved his money until he could buy some guitar
strings and a book. You see, his mother had this old guitar rotting in
the basement. It needed some minor repair but was easily fixed. He
began his guitar playing strumming out the first note of Aura Lee. And
from there it only progressed. Eventually he bought a Llamma and rode
across the pacific to India where he learned the fine art of Western
Mysticism and pottery. A journey he's still on I might add. He played
in some cover bands through high school, Mostly Eagles tunes. But his
heart grew dim as he aged. They never played out anywhere but in
people's garages. Eventually he gave up the whole band thing to strike
out on his own. He went to his living room and played some more covers;
mostly Jimmy Buffett. Then Finally he decided to write some music. He
hadn't wrote a song in about five years. This was a daunting task. He
persevered. And now we have DiscordAeon.

Eric C. Friedman is
Qabalist of both
the Traditional Hebrew & Hermetic paths. He discovered Magick
at an early age, studying everything from Witchcraft to Ceremonial
Magic of various forms. While pursuing rabinnical studies on Mt. Zion,
Jerusalem, Eric was initiated into the study of traditional Hebrew
Qabalah.
As a 2° Alexandrian Wiccan Priest, Eric is an ordained minister of the
Church of Ancient Ways and the founder and former Director of the Long
Island Open Circle. He is a Past Master of a Scottish Rite Lodge of
Perfection and deeply involved in exploring the esoteric aspects of
Freemasonry and other Ceremonial systems. Rev. Friedman is the author
of the H. P. Lovecraft Tarot, and is presently working on several
projects, including a translation of one of the fundamental Medieval
Qabalistic texts and a series of rituals adapting the Wiccan Wheel of
the Year to the Thelemic initiatory paradigm of the Crowned and
Conquering Child.

Gordon Kinloch --
Well, where to
begin? I suppose first and foremost, I should talk about the thing that
is most important to me, my spiritual life, and state that I am a
Thelemite, that is to say, a disciple of the Religion of
Thelema. I could never fully cover the complexities of this
religion here and I’m sure that none of you would want to read it,
suffice to say that it all can boil down to one statement “Do What Thou
Wilt shall be the Whole of the Law”. That is not to say that as a
Thelemite I believe that I can do whatever I please, quite the
opposite. Thelema teaches that every man and every woman is equal and
that we all have a true purpose for being here, a True Will. Our job in
this life is to discover that True Will and do it, no law, god or man
has the right to stop us. Hence “Do What Thou Wilt shall be the Whole
of the Law”. To me life is simply the science and art of causing change
to occur in my life in conformity with my Will (actually that really
wasn’t very simple, sorry). You can read more about Thelema and the
Hidden God at your local library, "remember the more you know the more
you grow!" When I am not being a fanatic (and some would say fabulous)
cultist, I can normally be found sitting at home reading, watching
cheesy movies (are there any other kind?), at work (sadly), or out and
about in the great city of Chicago (yes, I actually like this city). Oh
yeah and recently added, going to school to get my Nursing Degree
(yeech!). Anywho…I really don’t take the little shit too seriously, so
please don’t think that my rants and ravings here add up to shit. I
guess I’m pretty much like any one out there, I’m trying to figure out
why I’m here and have some fun while I’m doing it.

The Gregory Morris Group
is: Jay
Ensminger: saxophones, keys, & voice, Katherine Monnig:
percussion, Gregory Morris: guitars, & voice, and Michael
Sadoff: bass, & voice.
The Gregory Morris Group (Cincinnati, Ohio) combines fundamental
elements of a traveling storyteller, jazz influenced dynamic
percussion, bittersweet folk roots and east coast horn creating a
bastion of invention that shanghais the senses into a hyper real
environment rich with [un]savory characters. One part jazz, one part
folk, one part punk, one part rock, but it's really all about the
songs. Bank robberies, pregnant pirates, time travelers, voodoo spells,
allegory and plain old sex drugs and rock n roll conspire to reveal a
world of simple feelings in exotic places. A broken heart by any other
name...
The Cincinnati quartet has been
compared to Jack Johnson, John Lennon, The Grateful Dead, King Crimson,
Elton John, Bob Dylan, Charlie Hunter, Dave Mathews, Elvis Costello,
The Incredible String Band. GMG has also been featured at MidPoint
Music Festival 2004 and 2005, WinterStar 2005, Starwood 2005 and Chicks
Rock Fest 2005.

Jacob Be.
My
name is Jacob Be, and I am a guitarist.
I
am a composer.
I
am a performer.
I
am a teacher.
I
am a student.
I
am a Jew.
I
am a musician.
I
am a human.
I have been playing and composing music since I sang constantly into a
tape
recorder as a three year-old. My first musical experiences come from
Synagogue
and singing prayers at home. When I was in 5th grade, I got my first
instrument, a clarinet, which I took to immediately. At age 11, I
discovered
guitar, and it quickly became apparent that it was my calling. I played
in
garage bands throughout my teenage years, learning that songwriting was
also
something I truly enjoyed. I was awarded my Eagle Scout after
graduation from
high school, and immediately immersed myself in classical guitar so I
could be
accepted at University of Missouri Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music
and
follow my passion. I soon learned that part of that passion included
teaching
and spreading the joy of music to new people. I completed my time at
UMKC with
a degree in Jazz Studies and have continued to expand my music since. I
currently play in my band, Jacob Be. And Company, as well as with a
number of
friends and colleagues.
My
music is an eclectic blend of styles. I try to bring people together
from all
walks of life. The thing about music that is most important to me is
its magic.
Music has the ability to change the way a person feels. It can make one
feel
good, bad, happy, sad or any other emotion imaginable. It can be heard
with
your ears and seen with your eyes. Music vibrates the entire body and
soul.

A
Libra through and through, Marty
Huelsman has a balanced background. Raised in a Catholic
home, his
spiritual growth was tempered by a matrilineal connection to his
Cherokee heritage.
This along with an early connection
to nature began his shamanistic journeying. A student of Attic Greek,
philosophy, and theology at Xavier University, he honed his Left
Brained skills then entered Northern Kentucky University taking away a
major in Studio Art and minors in Psychology and Honors. His Honors
thesis titled “Quantitative Differences in House-Tree-Person Drawings
as a Method of Function of Drawing” can be found in the W. Frank
Steeley Library on campus.
As an animal empath, he has done energetic work with pets, yet refuses
the title of “pet psychic”. His spiritual path brought him to begin
studying Huna (the philosophical- psychological- theology of the early
Hawiians) and he is on the path to become a kahuna pule. Marty is also
one of the founding Qadishti priests, having attended the formative
Qadishti events held at Our Haven. Moreover, he is a minister with
Tri-State Holistic Congregation in Ohio. Residing in Louisville,
Kentucky, he was welcomed into the Unitarian Universalist churches
where he was a former member of CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian
Universalist Pagans) and past president of Interweave (a LGBT

Ypsilanti MI. He grew up in South Bend, IN, where he received his early
nurturing in music. He played in All-State Orchestras in two states

After an abortive start in Physics, Mike went to Baldwin Wallace

It was about this time that his musical career took a serious turn for

developed an appetite for improvisatory and alternative playing that
continues to this day.
After a twenty-year career in

played bluegrass tunes on Prairie Home Companion. And, along with
improvising with guitar players and pianists, he has now begun singing,
accompanying himself on the cello. His repertoire includes Beatles,

Scottish fiddle tunes. In this vein he attends many open mikes and

EMK

form cohesive, loving, personal connections through group ritual

A Brief Autobiography
of Owen Knight
I can think that my life has been
mostly one of leisure. I had my best years prior to year two when most
everything seemed a new magic. I was well past six when I began school
and then I did little schoolwork. During my school years, the
highlights were a trip to the circus with its magical side show, a trip
to the New York World's Fair, the track and field days at Rockville,
and my trip to the hospital where I had my first great sexual
experience; an experience which wasn't close to being equaled for over
a half century. Besides school, I've done construction work and served
as a soldier with the second and third infantry. I've played with rock
bands and lately, had a birthing into the World of the Deities, and so
live in the service of the Goddess Danu and when my mouth praises her
name, it is certainly doing no disservice to the world.

Red Wound is a
modern day
international musical collaboration between two artful lost
souls.
In early 2009 Rowye (programmer) and
Denise Cumor (vocals) collided into each other on the Internet in the
gaming guises of trampy elves and soon after became scheming fiendish
friends.
With Rowye in Barcelona and Denise in
Baltimore, they had never met in person or even spoken beyond online
chatting, the music became their way of communicating. Now after two
years of traveling back and forth between the two countries, they
finally arrive in the states this spring with their second full length
EP.
Red Wound is a moody and sensual
exploration into the darkness of the love torn psyche. Denise’s sultry
vocals weave smoothly into Rowye’s brooding musical arrangements,
creating theatrical yet lush stories with a few edgy surprises. The Red
Wound experience live is a vision set to include performance art, video
& theatrical lighting.

Terra Incognita (TI)
is a Temple of
Sexual Magick founded in Chicago that has slowly evolved from a small
gathering of friends hosted by Amanda and David Torrey almost twelve
years ago, to a larger collection of karmically interconnected people.
TI has attempted to integrate spirituality with sexuality using an
ancient Mesopotamian model that we have found very adaptable to a
variety of religious and magickal beliefs. While the Temples of Sumer
and Babylon have inspired our mindset, we also feel a connection to the
European mariners who were brave enough to sail to the "unknown lands"
they called Terra Incognita on their maps. Scary, shadow-filled places
of Monsters and Magick near The Edge of the World.
We believe that breaking fear-generated barriers is an important part
of personal growth. TI also feels the power of loving energy can help
heal most emotional wounds as well as unite those participating in the
Process of Transcendence. In our perspective, symbolic acts can only
bring symbolic rewards, so both diety and divine energy exchanges
should be real.
To actively pursue these ideas Terra Incognita is dedicated to the
eclectic Qadishtu Path of Sacred Sexual celebration. For us this
includes BDSM, Paganism, the patron/protege program, polyamory, Sex
Magick, sexwork, surrogacy, Tantra and Taoist practices. TI has
developed a very flexible neo-Pagan type of ritual to focus energetic
group workings, which owes a great deal to Chaos Magick creativity. Our
Qadishtu priesthood is Temple-based, in homage to historical precedents
and includes educational outreach and various hands-on practices with
seekers. We have also hosted assorted salons, workshops and book
signings, as well as presented at festivals and conferences.
Starting in the fall of 2004, New Zealand filmmaker Lynda Brendish
began filming an award-winning documentary about Terra Incognita called
Uncharted Lands. It captured TI's shift from a larger public group
dynamic to one that is more family-based. TI's High Priestess Amanda
recently completed a Religious Studies degree at DePaul University with
the hope of melding her metaphysical academic interests with our edgy
Temple work.
The past few years have been very expansive for the Terra Incognita
intentional community and we are honored to be part of the 2011 Babalon
Rising experience. The TTI entourage to Our Haven features several
experienced Priestesses including Kristin (aka Lady Erotique), Elle
D'Or, Jana, Lady Lyn, Mardöll, as well as Qadesh Temple consorts Dan,
Dominique, Kaiser and Phoenix Spirit.
